Privacy notice
As of 28 October 2026. This is a translation of the German Datenschutzhinweise. If in doubt, the German version applies.
1. Controller
Madison Eberhard Bahner, Bahner Digital, Auf der Gücht 2a, 53639 Königswinter, Germany, madison@bahnerdigital.de
2. Account
For your account we store your name, email address, an encrypted hash of your password (not the password itself), the invite code you used, your plan, your stream minutes per day and the AI costs incurred. The legal basis is the performance of our user agreement (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). You can delete your account yourself at any time on your account page. We then delete the data unless statutory retention obligations apply.
3. Cookies and visitor numbers
This website only sets one technically necessary cookie that keeps you logged in after you sign in. There is no tracking across other websites, no advertising and no third-party analytics tools.
So that we know whether the site is working, we count visits ourselves and without cookies. We only store daily totals: which pages were visited, which website visitors came from (only the domain, for example tiktok.com), whether it was a phone or a computer, and how often the trailer was started, the waitlist was used or the app was downloaded. To avoid counting visitors twice, the server creates a hash from the IP address and browser identifier together with a random value that changes daily. It only exists in memory, is never stored and becomes worthless after one day at the latest. This means no conclusions can be drawn about individual people. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working and improved website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
4. The app
Recordings and clips stay on your PC. For the app’s features, the following data is passed on via our server:
- Speech recognition: short audio sections from your microphone, only while you speak, to Mistral AI (Paris, France).
- Questions, topics, cheat sheet and review: excerpts from the transcript, from the public Twitch chat and from the channel memory to Anthropic (USA). The transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Our server does not store any content in the process, only usage for billing. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. If guests can be heard in your stream, please let them know.
5. Cloud backup
The app backs up your channel memory, your highlights and the transcripts and chat logs of your streams to our server, so nothing gets lost and you can carry on from another PC. The data is encrypted on your PC with AES-256 before it leaves it. We only store the key for it encrypted with your password. We don’t store your password itself, so we can’t read the stored content. We only see names (for example channel name and date of a stream), size and time of the backup. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. The backup can be switched off in the app and is deleted together with your account. Your viewers’ chat messages come from the public Twitch chat.
6. Feedback from the app
If you send us feedback through the app, we store your text, your account and, if you allow it, technical details (app version, Windows version, connection status, last error message). We only use this to improve TalKI and delete it after 12 months at the latest. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working app (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
7. Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the Twitch channel you optionally provided, the language of the page (German or English, so we can write to you in your language) and the time. We only email you when a beta spot opens up. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by email. We delete the list at the latest when TalKI launches publicly.
8. Hosting
Server and website are hosted by Contabo GmbH in Germany. When you visit, the server processes technically necessary connection data. We don’t store IP addresses in logs.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, write to the email address above. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
